How to get a heavy safe onto a pallet jack
Demonstration of the process of lifting a (burglarized) High Security Amsec TL-15 safe off the floor and onto a pallet jack and safely securing the safe to the pallet jack. How to crib a heavy safe two feet off the floor We also show a demonstration of cribbing the same safe 24.5" off the floor using 4" X 6" dunnage. This process is demonstrated using special jacks that we built for our own use. After we crib the safe up we demonstrate using a bridge to move the safe. An example of where this process could be used would be for example if we needed to place the safe onto a 24.5" tall pedestal.

Need your safe moved? Look no further, We professionally move safes daily. We move ATM machines too!
Are you moving and need your safe moved too but it is too big and too heavy? We professionally move safes and ATM machines of all sizes. The trick to moving big heavy safes is to let our equipment do the work, not our muscles. We work smart and safely to protect your property and anyone who happens to be nearby during the move.
We will come out and unbolt your safe from the floor (if your safe is bolted down). We can safely move your safe from your old home or business, and deliver it to your new home or new commercial space quickly and efficiently. Once your safe is moved into position, we can securely anchor most safes and ATM machines to concrete or wood floors at the new location, to reduce the risk of your safe being stolen.
If your safe was anchored to a concrete slab and the anchors used are not removable, we can also cut them off flush with the floor if so desired.
We have the specialized equipment necessary to safely move your safe, whether it weighs a couple hundred pounds or many thousands of pounds.
We have special lifting bars, cribbing, rollers, pipes, solid rods, pallet jacks, dollies, and specially designed jacks that allow us to lift your safe off of and onto the floor, and to move it out of and into tight spaces such as closets and other cramped spaces.
We have plywood, special aluminum plates and blankets to protect your carpet, tile & marble floors and thresholds from damage while moving your heavy safe across them.
We have a customized trailer that we use to move safes to their new location. Our 16 foot trailer has special heavy duty 8 foot c-channel ramps and a winch that allows us to safely load and unload your safe, while maintaining complete control of even the heaviest safe. From the moment we lift your safe from it's original location, till the moment we position it in it's new location, the safe is fully supported and tightly secured with heavy duty DOT approved straps during transit.
We also have heavy rated chains to secure heavier safes to our trailer while in transit, as well as blankets and wood to protect your safe's finish.
Call us today to schedule to have your safe moved tomorrow. (Many times we can also move your safe the same day if you are in a pinch, but we prefer to plan our safe moves at least a day ahead of time where possible so we can schedule our work load appropriately.)
We professionally move safes, deliver safes, install safes, bolt down safes, and relocate safes anywhere in the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex, and all surrounding areas. Arrangements to move safes longer distances may also be possible, just call and ask us. We move the big heavy safes that other companies walk away from.
NOTICE: Due to the many known dangers, and often unknown dangers to property and life involved with moving heavy safes up or down staircases, as a rule we do NOT move safes up or down more than 3-5 interior steps. If your safe must be moved to a different floor inside of your home or business, and the floors are more than 3-5 standard size steps apart, and you do not have an elevator, we recommend that you hire a professional rigging company for those types of safe moves. A crane may also be necessary for those types of moves. We can move your safe to your new address and you can arrange for a crane to get it to another floor if you wish. We highly recommend keeping your safe on the ground level floor for several reasons:
- You will likely move again someday... and making arrangements to get the safe back down to ground level may complicate or delay your move.
- There is a good chance that the upper floor may not be rated to support the weight of your safe for long periods of time.
- There are always risks of property damage or personal injury when lifting very heavy objects into the air.
- Excessive costs involved.
For really heavy safes currently located on an upper floor, it is sometimes safer to move the safe through a window with a crane, rather than risk a staircase or even the floor itself from collapsing under the heavy weight of a safe. The safe could end up on the lower floor quicker than you anticipated! Staircases may not be as strong as they were years ago when a safe was brought up or down them originally. Our goal is to provide a professional safe moving service with life safety and property protection being our highest priorities. With that in mind you will understand why we refuse to be rushed to complete a move. For this reason we do not charge by the hour, instead we almost always quote a flat price to move your safe, and in advance.
If a safe must be moved up or down 3-5 steps we may need to come out and inspect the property to determine if we can do the job safely using cribbing techniques. Cribbing (using strategically cross stacked 4X4 and 4X6 lumber) and special jacks allows us to raise and lower the safe up or down and over, inches at a time, until the safe is safely at the desired floor height, where it can be safely transferred to that floor.

Tarrant County Lock & Safe has a very highly skilled and experienced Safecracker on staff, who can open many safes with little or no damage at all. He can dial open many safes, and then give you the existing combination, or set a new one for you. A safecracker (also known as a safeman) is a professional who opens safes for people when they can no longer open them, maybe they lost the combination to the safe, or maybe a burglar tried to break in to or gain entry into the safe or vault and broke the dial or handle off or both, maybe the combination just stopped working all of the sudden.
A Safecracker will open your safe with the least amount of damage as possible, remove any broken parts, and install a new lock or locks if needed. Some safes also have a key which in some cases may require the cylinder to be replaced, sometimes we can just rekey the lock and cut new keys.
We can open your locked safe. Many safes can be opened with little or no damage, others must be drilled and then repaired. We can repair your safe if it stops working properly or easily. We can service your safe to prevent a costly lockout. We can move your safe to a different location and bolt it securely to the floor. We can change the combination on your safe. (Electronic locks and Dial locks) We can install electronic push button locks on many safes if you prefer not to have to dial a combination, then you can just enter your code into a keypad and then open the safe door.
